Kansas City Symphony Presents Joyce DiDonato

The first time I heard “In Trutina” (from Carmina Burana), I listened to a classical crossover artist sing it. Even though crossover artists aren’t always strictly classical musicians, I don’t mind the crossover genre because it motivates me to listen to the original operatic/orchestral version.

How “When I Am Laid In Earth” makes me feel

When someone insults Maria Callas’ voice

When I singalong to opera but don’t know the words

Some people dream of being an actor on stage while others yearn to sing in front of an audience. I get the best of both worlds because I sing opera!
